Humanitarian Bike Fleet

Welcome to the Humanitarian Bike project. By renting a humanitarian bike you will be helping to change the world one small cycle at a time.

All the funds from these bikes are donated to humanitarian projects, in particular to migration and refugee projects. This year, all proceeds will go to two projects. One project is Techfugees, an international organisation coordinating the tech community respond to the needs of refugees in the world. Another one is Migration Matters, an organisation empowering the public to have a more nuanced and evidence-based conversation about migration through bite-sized video courses that provide original ideas from leading thinkers in the field.

We are always looking for more bikes to join the fleet, so if you have a bike that you would like to donate then please do get in touch :)

Humanitarian Bike Fleet took a few days to respond to my request. Since I needed a bike somewhat urgently, in that time I had already contacted other bike owners and asked to cancel my request. The request, however, eventually went through (even though I had asked for it to be cancelled), and I decided to go ahead and use the bike. Collecting the bike went smoothly, but then it had some issues with the lower bracket which was damaged. I tried contacting Humanitarian Bike Fleet to exchange the bike, but they were not responsive. I greatly support this cause and enjoy the concept of bike sharing, but I wish the service was more efficient and the bikes were in better shape. That said, I believe I would give it another shot.

Thanks again for being such a kind, friendly person and renting out bikes for a good cause at a student-friendly price!

Second time using HBF and they were more than helpful. The pick up location is very central and the bikes are very visible with stickers which I liked. Would ride with their bikes again!
